"Jamie’s work as an advocate for civil rights, education, and for those struggling to get by makes it clear that as our state senator his focus will be on serving the needs of the people of Silver Spring, not the demands of special interest contributors." -Korey Hartwich
As a consumer advocate in 1999, I joined with a number of Maryland groups to tell the legislature that deregulating electric power in Maryland wouldn’t benefit consumers or the environment. They went ahead and gave the power companies a huge present at our expense.
Now our rates are rising dramatically, but what did we get out of the deal? Nothing.
All too often we elect people to the legislature who disappear, spending too much time and energy on wealthy donors and businesses with an agenda in Annapolis. Serving on a local citizens advisory board to the government, I see some politicians ignoring our needs. Things should be much better.
It’s time that we have an active, effective leader as their state senator. That’s why I support Jamie Raskin. Jamie’s work as an advocate for civil rights, education, and for those struggling to get by makes it clear that as our state senator his focus will be on serving the needs of the people of Silver Spring, not the demands of special interest contributors.
Please join me in voting for Jamie Raskin.
